Nena Botto ~ Writer, Director, Executive Producer

Nena Botto is the writer and director of Blue Fiddles, as well as one of the main characters, Lisa. For Nena, Blue Fiddles has been a wonderful learning experience, not only in film making but also in business skills, project management, and promotion of the project.
Nena began writing screenplays as a way of processing events in her life and the lives of others… friends or even stories of people in other parts of the world. Blue Fiddles came about through a group of actors brainstorming their ideal roles. They wanted to do a project that was simple and realistic, but also humorous. Nena got inspired and began writing Blue Fiddles. The project took off as people read the script and volunteered their time to help make it a reality. Film-making has allowed her to not only write and act, but also produce.
Season One was so well received, that Alisyn and Nena pressed on to make season 2 without much funding. They felt the stories of the three women had just begun to play out in season one along with the request from viewers that they “wanted to see what happened next.”
Now, when her friends tell her a hard luck story, they start laughing as they imagine it as a Blue Fiddles episode. “The story appeals to women with its blend of real and fictitious stories about women. But it also has universal appeal for anyone who has faced hardship and felt played, or made a fool of. The beauty is being able to laugh about it, even through the pain,” says Botto.
Nena and her husband Christian currently live in Portland Oregon raising their two daughters, Izabella and Ava. Izabella has also joined the cast in season 2, as Claire’s daughter. Christian’s music is featured in both seasons. Nena also teaches acting classes for children.
